CS done successfully any Qs?

Hello guys....

- watching the faces of those volunteers for CS helplessly?
- feeling stupid going through a drama of fake Qs, fake Answers and fake examinations
- feeling very unpredictable about how you would do in this only interactive exam by ECFMG?

I have been through it, and that too successfully. I had taken my CS exam with the best of my efforts in 2007 in LA. till that time I had heard a lot of stories, like its better for IMGs to take exam on East coast rather than in LA, you should take exam in certain month of the year to avoid certain type of volunteers and similar.

JUST feel free to ask any question you have in your mind while preparing for the test. and ALWAYS REMEMBER..
CS IS ONE OF THE EASIEST OF THE EXAMS.

Hey.....

lot of questions indeed. Lets face them one by one.

You need UW cases and a lot of practise to face the exam well. First of all plan:

Keep at least 2-3 months for the nice preparation of exam. If you are confident enough then even one and half month can be enough.

USMLEWorld rocks according to me. There are compliation of 77 cases from UW site, which you can print and keep it with you. Nothing more should be required.

finally, the crux...
Crux for a smooth and effortless preparation for CS is nothing but practice.

This will sound too less for the preparation of a 1200 $ exam. but it is not. let me know few more things specific in your case and I will be happy to help you more.

did you use any book beside usmle world ? and where I can get usmle world cases , would u please provide me a link ?


did u practice cases with someone who are trying to do CS or with real patients ?

Hello friend

According to me FA is not as useful as UW cases are. and I have cleared the CS in first attempt with the use of UW and practise only.

As for the practice, YES IT IS A MUST. The Best thing would be to practice the cases with a friend, Give him the first set of complaints (you would find them in UW cases). Act as if you are in real exam.

The Second part of practice would be to make a list of any 10 cases from the lot. Write down their chief complaints only on a piece of paper. Then try to answer each complaint on your own on paper again. Compare it with the key given in cases.

I would provide you with 77 cases of Uw, check this post by tomorrow by same time.

Here is the thing. They have given a complete work up of each case. Many people think that going through whole lot is too much. Trust me, there are no shortcuts.

Here is the working link. Download it, and start practising using the CCS CD. I think that is the only software where you can practice it.

hey dna gyrase
i faced CS myself in october 09 but wasnot able to pass it
according to my report they saY I WAS failed in the data gathering and patient notes
although i practiced the UW 2-3 time with a freind but it didnt help me
i am regiving it on 18th march
what do you suggest
waiting eagerly for your answer

also i think the links you have given are for CCS exam in step 3 and not USMLE step 2 CS
