Base on my experience as a tech guy, I would say Firefox is the best even thought it has its problems the add-on alone is already worth using it, the security and UI is one of the best, the product innovate almost on every major release, bugs are fixed and holes are patched regularly including add-on, it can run on almost any OS, its easy to customize "about:config" basically its very good at what it does, I personally uses firefox as primary browser, then uses chrome, opera as alternative browser.

its a freeware
its a open source development
u can post ur problems at bugszilla, there the developers take care of it immediately
a lot of add ons r available....

And for mobile, Opera, it's lite, have nice options like identifying urself as mobile or desktop, and never bugged on me before...
