Default Histology textbook

Hello guys and gals,
I am having difficulty deciding on a textbook for histology. The choices are Wheater's, Gartner's, Ross, and Junqueira. The course recommends Junqueira but I have read some real bad reviews. This will be my first time taking Histo and so far the reviews indicate Ross being the best choice for beginners. Wheater's has also received good reviews for pictures and description. I have already purchased DiFore's Atlas. I am not concerned about the cost. Please any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Default Well...

Iīve used Junqueira and had good grades... Itīs long and boring, but if u really read it, u wont have to go back to any page... Stuff read, stuff in mind...

And dont worry too much about it... What u really gonna need u will see again and again and again... Now, just try to have a good base about it....

I used Wheater because of the really good pictures. However, you can download just the pictures from the web (and probably this forum). This way you'll get the best of the book on your computer without the cost!

For revision use histology: illustrated colour text
For textbook use Alan Stevens: human histology.

I got the histology award (top marks in histology (93%) using this combination).

Good luck

When I looked for an histology text, I, too, considered the books you have mentioned. I prefer using Junqueira as text. It's sytematic. For atlas, I used Gartner. I liked the atlas in particular because of intros it gives for every system/ chapter. But honestly, I don't think it really matters which text as long as you stick to one.

so far for atlas your choice is good i.e. DiFore's
now as a textbook Wheater's & Junqueira both are good bt i'd recommend Junqueira for better description and better diagram
